Mount Baker, Washington State, from our area in BC Canada

About This Image
taken yesterday afternoon, from our area. Mount Baker is a 10,778 ft ice clad volcano in the North Cascade range of Washington State, USA. We have a very good view of it from our area, which is approx. 45 - 50 miles from Mt Baker.(have to check that). It's especially pretty during sunsets, when the setting sun is reflected on the white snow. Hope to capture that sometime : )
Mt Baker's icy volcanic dome rises 15 miles south of the Canadian/US border at Abbotsford, British Columbia (where we used to live, and there's an even better/closer view of the mountain from there). It supports 12 glaciers. Its summit crater is ice filled, levelling out on top to form a relatively flat 35 acre ice summit. Mt Baker has been very active over the last 10,000 years.
