Maori Carvings

What a wonderful,marvelous face!! Very impressive! Also, and I may be dreaming this up - but is there - like a person carved - sitting in a lounge chair - to the left, as I am looking at it. I can see things often when no one else does and everyone laughs at me but I do see things sometimes. *g* Thanks for letting us get to see some wonders that otherwise we would never see. A Wonderful Accomplishment!

I went out to see these carvings again with a work group. I never knew we were going there so forgot my camera. I did, however, have my cell phone and got a couple of good shots. As soon as I get a decent dial-up connection, I will upload some. Thanks Dud for you comment by the way.

Wow, I didn't see your photo's that weekend in Taupo. Glad to see you have posted this one. Very Impressive.

Thanks Whittler. Your comment is really appreciated. It was a truly beautiful place to be. All the rocks in the front of the big carving were carved too. They had carved lizards etc right into the rocks. I have some photos that I will upload at a later date. It sure was impressive.

Thanks Carol. It was really great getting a chance to see these carvings as they can only be viewed by boat. Lake Taupo is about 2 hours away but we don't get there as much as we would like to.
