About This Image

These are mammatus clouds that appear after or during a thunderstorm or hailstorm. They are called this because as you see they resembled human female mammary glands

What an amazing cloud formation. These I have never seen before. A bit scary, to know what could be coming. Thankyou for sharing.

Thank you all for your compliments. This shot was from 2005 and yes we did get a big storm with the tornado sirens and all go off from all surrounding towns and my town but not tornado. And then these clouds appeared and I ran for my camera.

These clouds certainly look very dense; a bit like cotton wool. I hope you didn't get too bad a storm. Great shot. :)
