About This Image

this female mallard came out of the pond at the gardens to visit us. She'd just had a good stretch of her wings at this point & was balancing on one foot. Had never noticed the stripes on the hen mallards' heads before, but maybe had never viewed one this close. I think she's lovely.

I just found this one. It is a lovely portrait with excellent detail and color. I like that you captured the blue wing feathers.

thanks Beverly, - she seemed to be watching us pretty closely, - probably hoping for some food : ) Am not sure if we are allowed to feed the ducks there, - didn't see any signs. will check at the entrance next time

Good capture. I like the way her head is angles. And standing on just one leg is a nice effect.
