About This Image

The most numerous and widespread of our swans. Nests in reeds on lowland lakes, garvel-pits, sluggish rivers and canals. Can behave rather aggressively, even towards humans, more particularly during the breeding season.
Non-breeders gather in large flocks during the winter.
