About This Image

These trails in the Ocala National Forest are favored by horseback riders and ATVers alike. The hurricanes thinned the woods to some extent, and some trees are STILL coming down at odd times (we watched one spindly pine slowly keel over two weeks before we left, on a quiet day. It was an eerie sight.)

Thank you, Carol - my only disappointment was the glare which I was unable to eliminate fully - grrr!

Thank you again, Anne. These woods were indeed rather "unwordly" in appearance. When I first got there it was almost ominous, then after awhile I began to appreciate their unique beauty. Recent hurricanes had closed off many of the forest trails which only enhanced the desire to go exploring.

"WOW" What a beautiful cypress tree. We don't have cypress trees in our area or at least I haven't seen any. A really great shot - otherworldly almost. Really liked the artistic flair to it.

I love those trees. I haven't seen any since I lived in Louisiana.

It's in north central Florida, Brian. Lots of wildlife in there too. Look for Ocala on a Florida map, then slightly north and east of there.
