About This Image

The park is littered with large and small limestone boulders, as this part of Texas was once covered by an ancient sea. The water is filtered through limestone and is crystal clear.

Thank you, Talsi. It is well-known all over Texas because of the rare maple trees that are survivors of a time when Texas was wetter and cooler.

Thank you, Alandra. Yes, Texas is covered with limestone embedded with shells and sea urchins. The water is filtered through the limestone and is very clear, as you can see in this picture.
