Taken today at the Latodami Nature Center. I was at the right place at the right time. A tech was going into the barn to work on the web cam and I asked if I could take some photos. This is the only Barn Owl there right now. He is about 5 years old, was hand raised so can't be released. He will be used for breeding and will be getting a girfriend soon according to the tech, who calls him Lonesome George.
Latodami has joined in the effort to re-establish a population of self-sustaining Barn Owls (Tyto alba) in Western Pennsylvania.

how beautiful they are, and great shot. Am also glad he'll soon have a lady friend. Am not sure I can look at the other photo, as it looks as if that poor owl had some type of accident.
