About This Image

See "Les Herolles 1" for details of this market. This is a stall selling traditional wooden french clogs, with a customer unlikely to find her size!

I don't think there is much of a difference Lorraine. Wooden clogs were pretty standard footwear across Europe in previous centuries. In french, clogs are "sabots" and clog makers are "sabotiers". Our french house used to be a sabotier's shop, and we've always hoped to find one hidden away, but never have!

Whats the difference between French and Dutch clogs? these look I think the same as our daughters partner has and he's Dutch.
