Thanks for the comments! The colors and composition weren't selected as much as incidental to the surroundings, with my wife holding the flower while we were seated at a park picnic bench. The surrounding grass providing the background. I usually heed the rules about not picking flowers, but that was much easier than trying to get down to the flower's level where it was growing, at the edge of a marsh!

I like the angle you've used for this shot Bruce. The backdrop colour makes sure that the eye focuses on the bloom itself and the colour of the flower is lovely! I agree with Anne; it does have a bit of an oriental look to it. :)

I like the clarity and the colors are so enjoyable to view. I feel it has a bit of oriental style to the photograph. Interesting photograph.
