Hummingbird displaying her jewelled throat. What treasures these tiny birds are! Think she's a female Rufous hummer.
too bad the iridescent jewels on her throat don't show up as much here as it does on the original, due to compression

thanks very much, RKB. Surprised that your hummers arrive there later than ours, us being further north. Perhaps they are a different type of hummingbird tho, so might be coming from different areas? Which type are "yours"?

It is still a nice shot even if the jewels do not show up as much. I don't usually see a hummer around here till around the third week of April.
