About This Image

We recently returned to the new Pennsylvania Visitors Center at Delaware Water Gap. On our first visit I didn't take the time to check out the upper deck, even though the canopies intrigued me. This time I did. All I expected were beautiful vistas . . . instead I was treated to this delightful rooftop garden picnic area, with lovely patterns formed by the overhead canopies. I think it's the best-kept secret there - as noone else joined me.

Hang on a minute . . . gotta check that name again - yup, it says "Steve Brown" . . . even applauding my framework!!!!!! I am honored!!!! (Had to say it, old boy!) As soon as I turned the corner at the top of the steps that old song came to mind - it was unlike any other visitor center I've stopped at and a huge contrast to the simplicity of the building proper. Oddly, this is about the only time that high noon is the time to grab images here - to square off the geometric canopy reflections on the ground. The sky and forested mountaintops are the perfect bsckdrop for relaxing - especially if you just came from New Jersey or New York City where traffic is insane. Vicki

A lovely shot, Vicki - even the frame is good (!!) - and I love the witty title!

Hi Mary and Lorraine - I thought this was a delightful surprise when I walked up to the roof - next time we'll take a picnic lunch and really enjoy it. Mary, this is the first PA Welcome Center when you get into PA on I-80 from New Jersey. Vicki

Looks beautiful Vicki. Nice to have the garden to yourself. The sky is vividly gorgeous.
