This Hyacinth Macaw is enjoying some attention from the handler. It is a rare and endangered macaw with its distinctive deep blue cobalt plummage. It is about 36-40 inches in height and weighs about 2.5 lbs. The birds mate and live in family groups nesting in Maduvi Trees and cliffs. Hyacinth Macaws have very strong beaks and there calls are very loud and can be heard up to a kilometer away.
