hummingbird laying down in the water bath, quite a rare sight I would imagine. Notice how they must hold their heads to one side while laying down, to avoid damaging their long beak.

thankyou again, Jeannie, am happy you enjoyed the hummer shots, - have lots more that I haven't added here yet : ) The hummer went to that same place in the bath each day, I realized later.

By the look of this shot he looks well over heated big time! After looking at the next two shots that you took right after shows that just a little water can make a big difference. You really captured a great series of hummingbirds this summer! Thanks for sharing!
