About This Image

Allen's Hummingbird, dancing beside the fountain spray in our lilypond on front patio. Captured this afternoon from the open window. Note the tiny feet, plus 2 water droplets have the reflection of "red" in it, from the hummers feather colouring.
Precious!

that's nice of you, Talsi, many thanks. It is one of my favorites from this past summer. Dear little things, I sure miss seeing them and often think of them, on their long journey south.

I'm getting as bad as you Alandra, commenting weeks after the event!!! :) But I couldn't leave this image without a comment on your superb technique. I think this is your best ever hummer shot, and that's not a thing to be taken lightly!

that's nice of you, Janice, thankyou. I guess they probably are happy here, as there's lots for them to feed from, we plant flowers etc specially for them :) We spoil everything, even the hummers

many thanks Peeka and Carol for the nice comments. Carol, I think this is an Allens, as they stayed longer this year than the Rufous females normally stay here, about a month longer.

Hi Carol, thanks so much for the one and only comment on this one. I also thought it was so cute, with her feathers all ruffled up on her head :) - like she was preparing for a good "shower".
