I`m not sure these humming birds are calledred ruby throated hummers, they are native to the area but they are the only kind that are around here,I haven`t seen any males just females so far...

oh, ours arrive here in February, -the mature males arrive first, to set up territory, followed a few wks later by the females and immature males. Maybe the ones you have there are "enroute" home to wherever their home is?

I don`t think they come here till the 2nd or 3rd week of july but I`m not sure when they leave but in the mean time they are still around, I`m not sure what the flower is but I think it might be penstemon, its a late bloomer though...

they sure are, is that penstemon that its feeding on? they like that anyway. Ours have all left now, for their migration back to Calif and Mexico, sure miss them. they were sooo active zooming about here for several days before they left.
