There those that did not die of depravation found passage back to England. The court martial of the 10 remaing prisoners resulted in 3 being hung at Portsmouth from the foremast of Hms Brunswick. The fate of Fletcher Christian and the others sought refuge on the remote island of Pitairnwas not discovered till 1808 by then all but one were dead.
