About This Image

Great Blue Heron flying past the treetops. Love the colours on his legs and feet, and the "britches". Also, the thin black "plume" behind its head can be seen here if you look closely, flowing out in the wind as he flies

Hi, yes, we have flowers blooming here now, azaleas, camellias, rhodos, and all the spring bulbs. this area is one of the most important stops on the Pacific Flyway. Each year more than 1.5 million birds from 20 countries pass thru the area. This is also a wintering ground for 230 species of birds, including 20,000 Snow Geese from October - March annually. Thanks for the comments.

Wow you have a huge variety of birds in your area from what I've seen! Are things starting to bloom up there? Stephanie

thankyou Stephanie for the nice comments. I've been enjoying your spring scenes too. No we aren't that avid birders, we don't go out in groups or anything like that : ) We just feed the songbirds in the garden and enjoy them. But this area has a lot of different and interesting birds so have just started taking pics of them, altho have been interested in getting hummingbird pics for years
