Guest - Mar 03, 2007 03:58 PM EDT Alandra - Pure beauty wading in crystal clear water, the mist rising in background, lending safety while it peeks out through the rushes.
Guest - Oct 30, 2006 04:18 AM EDT think this is the only heron shot "in water" that I've captured so far. Thanks Alex D
Guest - Oct 30, 2006 04:05 AM EDT Nicely done.
Guest - Oct 06, 2006 05:13 PM EDT thankyou for the nice comments, Doug and Beverly. Am really enjoying the telephoto lens, and getting more used to it now, and what it is capable of : )
Guest - Oct 06, 2006 01:22 PM EDT Great shot of the Heron in his natural surroundings.
Guest - Oct 06, 2006 10:34 AM EDT First rate capture, Alandra, that new lens is really working out for you. Nice job!
Guest - Oct 05, 2006 03:44 AM EDT thankyou Carol, - am surprised you don't have the herons there, with the rivers and lakes etc.
Guest - Oct 04, 2006 06:45 PM EDT Wish we had these birds around here too.Great photo.
Guest - Oct 04, 2006 04:57 PM EDT lol, Alan. It's true, there are hundreds of these great blue herons around here. There's a big nesting colony in early summer a few mins away from our home, but they nest way high up on the side of a bluff, so it's a bit hard to get as clear a capture as this, altho I made many attempts to do that. Before now, we have usually been heading "somewhere in a rush" so couldn't take time to get these roadside images of the herons, but lately we've been making time to do this.
Guest - Oct 04, 2006 04:41 PM EDT That's no fair... You just drive down the road and can take photos like this. I have to walk and walk sneaking around cactus to get a shot of a small bird with heat stroke LOL..
Guest - Oct 04, 2006 04:24 PM EDT thankyou Alan, glad you like it. This is where the herons are often seen in this area, beside the road in these little creeks. Have started watching more closely for them lately : )
Guest - Oct 04, 2006 03:56 PM EDT WOW Alandra! I really like this one. The stream really adds to the view of the Heron in it's natural habitat.
