Great Horned Owl, with the last rays of the sun shining on the leaves behind him. The owl is on the higher branch in this frame.
He's In the park where they live for many months of the year, in our area. They raise their young here each year, then they leave soon after the youngsters fledge, but they return at this time of year. Everyone around here loves watching them. The feather pattern can be seen nicely here, and it seems to blend well with the tree bark, - he was hiding from the large flock of attacking crows.
