Thanks for looking in Anne, I don't know if my great grandfather was born here or came out as a baby form Switzerland with his parents I must find out, I'll check out what part of the country they came from also, thanks for the comments. Have a happy New Year.

Your Great Grandfather reminded me of My grandfather - his people came from the Palatine area, not far from Germany I think, long ago. He was a quiet, gentle, handsome man also. A very nice tribute to your ancester. We have a Swiss settlement here. History of family is always interesting to me. Thanks for sharing.

What I gathered from my grandmother when she was alive , wa that he was a very gentle man, and I think that he may have spoilt her as much as he could afford in those days, thanks for looking in and the kind comments, glad you enjoyed.
