Great Blue Heron leaving the nesting area last evening. There wasn't that much activity there.
Believe this is my sharpest capture of a heron so far (note the whiskers under it's beak/chin : )

thankyou Shirree, glad you saw what I meant re the Orca's skin : ) - in the orig. version it is a striking capture, but loses something in the compressed image.

thankyou for the nice comment, Mary. Am surprised at the smooth quality of the "far" wing in this capture. You can imagine in the original it's even sharper, and the L wing top looks as smooth as a whale's skin, that's what it reminded me of : ) - only a different colour.

I agree, it is sharp and can even see the eye pupil.
