About This Image

This is the main square in Arras. It covers over a hectare and was sadly seriously damaged by German bombardment in the First World War. It has been restored to its former glory, and is famous for its covered colonnades and Flemish style façades (please see the detail shots).

Many thanks, Jas and Ikka! Never been to Gdansk, and I suppose I'm a bit surprised to hear it has Flemish-style architecture!

Lovely architecture Steve. It reminds me of Gdansk, Old Town, as it also has this type of facade...again restored after the war.
