About This Image

This was taken at the Gladys Porter Zoo in Brownsville, Texas. This baby orangutan was full of mischief. The mother and grandmother were incredibly patient and tolerant. I braced the camera on a railing to steady it. Since the light was quite bright at 9:00 a.m., I was trying to avoid lens flare.

Thank you for all the nice comments. This baby is lucky because the female usually raises the baby by herself, as orangutans are solitary. So this little one gets lots of attention.
