Yeah, I'm back after a great time in France, and to a huge backlog of photos on TLF! It'll take me forever to comment on all the great images that deserve it, so I've had to limit myself!

Hi Steve ya back, hope you had a great Christmas and New Year, I can imagine how long he had to sit there perfectly still, maybe thats why they didn't smile to hard to hold for so long? thanks for looking in and the comment.

My favourite of your historic photos, Lorraine, but thay are all fascinating and revealing. I can't imagine how your g g g grandfather managed to hold this pose for what was probably a very long exposure! And those piercing eyes, offset by such a kindly smile.
