Guest - Jul 19, 2005 02:58 AM EDT very impressive. love the way the wingtip feathers are flaring out as he manoevers. plus the glow of the sunset reflected on the heron is very pleasing. I think we are on the same "great blue heron belt" too : ) We saw about 15 GB Herons today, up in some trees, where they are nesting, 5 minutes from our place. Too high up for my camera to get any good shots tho'. Met some people there, who told me that there had been about 200 GB herons in that same "heronry"/rookery the previous week. Wish we'd seen that. This man also said that Point Roberts, WA has the largest heron nesting area in North America. we did know about the herons nesting there, but didnt realize it was the largest one. We are close to Point Roberts WA

beautiful color on the Heron.
