This is a Flowering Black currant Bush that I liked as I drove along.

alandrapal - Mar 12, 2008 05:46 AM EDT that's very much like the "flowering currant" wild shrubs that grow around here. They bloom early too, and this is one of the few flowers available for the hummingbirds to get nectar from, when they arrive back here from California and Arizona etc. each March or so. I believe the flowering currant flowers are a bit deeper pink than this, tho', and have never seen one as tall as this one in the photo.
Jas - Mar 10, 2008 07:46 AM EDT These ribes are such pretty bushes; I have one in my garden and they're one of the first to bloom as spring is near. :)
