Thanks for the comments! I like the comparison to fireworks, I hadn't noticed that. The dark background was the result of the flowers being in bright sun in front of a shaded bush, and a little tweak in PSP to enhance the contrast.

Alfresco, I have looked at this photograph more then once wanting to say something in regards to it. What seems to come to my mind is "fireworks". Because of the vantage that you took and the dark background, these blossoms seem like exploding fireworks in the sky. The colors are so beautiful. Wonderful to view.
