very nice image, Beverly, - it almost looks as if the fern fronds have a sort-of "woolly" appearance. Can see what Steve means tho', unless the whitish areas are actually on the leaves themselves

Beverly, this is a beautiful and delicate subject, but I think the lighting lets it down a bit. Perhaps flash would have helped, or maybe just some digital post-processing to adjust the white point and give the image more punch.
