Lorraine wonderful capture. No Deer were not native they were introduced into New Zealand along with alot of other animals.

Thankyou carol and Whittler for looking in, my daughters partner found him out in the bush, he had either got lost or his mother may have being shot, but it took a little care to get him back onto his feet and several visits to the vet, I guess way back they must have being imported, and being released.
