About This Image

This group of statues is in front of the St. John the Baptist Parish Library in LaPlace, Louisiana. It is dedicated to a local lady who has passed. Her family misses her big time. I thought this was strange since the only person missing is the Father. I guess the modern society of the United States has so belittled the role of the Father that he is not to be missed. This is sad for me since I am a Father and my own has recently passed.

She is skipping rope while her "brother" has his head on Mom's lap with a book on his chest.

very nice statues. it looks as if the little girl is taking flowers in her hand, to her Mommy, but I believe the flowers are growing nearby : ) nice how you captured that effect. does she have a skipping rope in her hands?
