We had a storm here yesterday with a deluge that did a lot of damage. We went down to the beach to see some of the stuff that had washed in and on the way back noticed these shags drying themselves on rocks in the middle of the Waiwakaiho river

Ty As I was setting up to take this photo the shag on the left was about to take off, so had to snap fast

Excellent image of the pair, Nanakiwi. In silhouette they look just like Anhingas - but the coloring is slightly different. Vicki
