The Cairn Terrier is a breed of dog of the terrier category. It is one of the oldest terriers, originating in the Scottish Highlands and recognised as one of Scotland's earliest working dogs, used for hunting burrowing prey among the cairns. Terry, the dog who played Toto in the 1939 screen adaptation of The Wizard of Oz, was a Cairn Terrier

I like the look/expression you captured. He also resembles a Lhasa Apso with a puppy cut.

Cute!! He may be a Cairn Terrier, they look very similiar with the darker tinges on the nose and ears. Its a very nice photo, regardless of whatever he may be.

Had to have another look at him, his muzzle is a little longer, he must be a terrier of some sort as you say, some one will be able to help, a cute little fellow all the same.

Thanks Lorraine, Carol and Marsha. He does look a bit like your Griffon, Lorraine, but the oweners did mention the breed (as I'm now pretty senile, I've forgotten!) and I don't think it was that. Some kind of terrier, I think!

Not sure but he looks a little like the Griffon that I have just listed, see what you think? neat shot.
