Jas - Jun 16, 2008 12:00 PM EDT Lovely shot of Derwent Reservoir Barney! I like the colour contrasts between the water, stonework and rolling hills and trees. :)
Karen Moen - Jun 10, 2008 08:19 PM EDT Beautiful image. If it was used to practice bombing runs, then that explains the castle-like towers.
barney0810 - Jun 10, 2008 05:24 PM EDT Hi Bruce. Yes you are right this dam was used by the RAF Dam Buster for practice runs.
Alfresco - Jun 09, 2008 07:50 PM EDT Beautifully composed and executed. The first thing that came to mind when I saw the picture was the book and movie "The Dam Busters", the account of development of means to bomb German dams in WWII. Could this dam have been used for practice runs for the Lancaster bombers? It physically resembles the dams in the movie.
