Thanks for the comments, Carol, Mary and Alandra. And, yes, some folks here also have them in their gardens, but they grow wild along the roadsides.

very nice portrait of the daylily. Interesting that these grow by the roadsides, as think we don't see them doing this here. People grow them in their gardens.
