About This Image

Dandelion:
The danelion grows inividually on hollow flower stalks 2 to 18" tall. Each flowerhead consists of hundreds of tiny ray flowers, unlike other composites, there are no disk flowers.
The flowerhead can change into the familar seedhead overnight each seed can spread far and wide in the wind.

What a pretty shot of the dandelions. Many years ago we collected the greens and made a salad out of them - it was okay, but way to much trouble collecting and cleaning them to do it again.

I never ate dandelions much, but made a batch of dandelion wine back in the 1970's. It came out pretty good, but it was too flowery for my taste, gave most of it away. I figured out a long time ago that it's better to accept and admire dandelions than to try to do battle with them, and now I look forward to them appearing each spring, and go looking for big fields of them to photograph. Nice capture of the beautiful yellow flowers! Bruce

Carol, this certainly a familar sight at this time of year. Well captured. My mother used to cut them out of the lawn and have them to eat. I never caught on to the taste.

Reminds me its time to get the weed spray out, and sort out a few missed patched in the garden before winter sets in, nice shot of the weed though, the flowers are pretty.
