About This Image

With the drought in full swing the bees are not finding many flowers this spring. Each prickly pear cactus flower had two or more bees.

Great close-up of this beautiful cactus bloom, with bees; nice sharp image and lovely colour saturation. A really interesting image to view. :)

Thank you, Alandra, Chriss35, Alovely, Bubbalinn and Marysham, for viewing and leaving your kind feedback. This poor flower seemed to have suffered from all the visitors. It looked rather flattened. Yes, Alandra, after the mishap in Vancouver I bought a Nikon D200 and the versatile Nikkor 18-200 lens. I do miss the 80-400 for birds pics. One day I will take it to be repaired. I also bought a new tripod that will hold up better, I hope!

Great photo Karen.. I recognized the bloom right off :) It's good to know that the tough cactus are saving the bees and other insects.

Beautifully captured flower and bees. The color of this flower is so enjoyable to view. Those bees are certainly enjoying the sweetness of this cactus bloom.

A very nice image Karen, I do like flowers with insects as well.

great macro, Karen, of both the flower and the bees. Did you get a new camera? and long lens? I hope you did get another lens as felt so badly about your other one.
