Yes, indeed, Alverstone is on the Isle of Wight. It's the village next to the one where we live and on our favourite route that we like to walk.

the first thing I thought was Isle of Wight UK when I saw this, then maybe some other area of Hampshire, (where I lived as a child) -- so I did a google check and see that Alverstone IS on the IOW : )
