Thanks for commenting, Jas, Lorraine, and Ann. And my dictionery says the Coot is a stupid and slow in flight bird, so that probably is where "you old coot" came from

Talsi, this is the first time I have seen a Coot. I often wondered where the saying, "you old coot" came from. Great lighting and very clear image. You even got the light in the Coots eye. Fun to view.
