About This Image

In the high Uintas of Northern Utah, there are spectacular trails, lakes, cliffs, and mountains. This was taken on the way to Island Lake, one of the many hundreds of lakes that dot the landscape. You might recognize a small part of this picture since I used part of the cloud in the main logo image on this website.

Spectacular! Amazing Beauty of dark and light!! The darness of the rock and the brightest of the sun combining to show tree and cloud at its best. A great picture.

Thanks. The uintas can be quite moody. One minute, it's hot and sunny, the next minute there is a thunderstorm brewing. It's a fun and exciting place to be.

Excellent image ! I have signed up for a photo workshop with Ed Preston ( May 14 - 17 ) and cannot wait to see and attempt to capture the many beautiful sights of Utah. !! Cont'd success
