Guest - Oct 22, 2006 07:32 AM EDT Yeah, I've never felt the need to eat one either. I'm betting that the sea urchins in your part of the world look a bit different than those that we have here.
Guest - Oct 22, 2006 02:24 AM EDT Yes, I know exactly what this is - a sea urchin (the Maori's call them 'kina'). They are a delicacy (not to me!) & people can be seen gathering them to eat at low tide. And seagulls love them too. I like watching them in the rockpools with all their spines attached & waving. :o)
Guest - Apr 05, 2005 03:33 PM EDT no, they don't look like star fish...I'll upload a pic of the whole thing for you to see.
Guest - Apr 05, 2005 11:44 AM EDT Does a sea urchin look like a starfish because that's what I would have guessed?
Guest - Mar 22, 2005 11:18 PM EDT I love this Never seen one before
Guest - Mar 22, 2005 10:32 PM EDT it is an urchin, but not a fossil...probably the aftermath of a seagull
Guest - Mar 22, 2005 07:07 PM EDT I know what this is because we have lots of these sea urchin fossils in Texas.
