Guest - Nov 14, 2007 08:31 PM EDT Very nice work, but riding a thistle in a bathing suit? OUCH!!

Thanks for your thoughts on this.
Guest - Jul 19, 2006 10:18 AM EDT Hi Gary and Kdastonjr, Thank you for your comments and suggestions, input is always welcome.
Regards, Doug
Guest - Jul 19, 2006 07:36 AM EDT Nice photoshoping on the image but you should try to Filter/Blur/Gaussian Blur. Try that on just the model layer to match the slight blur in the wings. Still a great concept.
Guest - Jul 14, 2006 03:21 PM EDT Very creative work. Thanks for the Photoshop tips. I'll try them.
Guest - Jul 11, 2006 02:10 PM EDT Above comment should have read "these are NOT terribly difficult to make ..." Hate it when I do that.
Doug :)
Guest - Jul 07, 2006 08:37 AM EDT Hi Niko, Thank you for your kind comments, these are terribly difficult to make with a little practice.
Best Wishes, Doug
Guest - Jul 06, 2006 08:27 PM EDT Wow! I'm not into the photography but that's some good photoshop work!
Guest - Jun 07, 2006 02:17 PM EDT Hi Plumeriagirl, Thank you for your kind comments.

Guest - Jun 05, 2006 10:26 PM EDT Nice photoshop work!!! Very creative. You blended the layers marvelously. A tedious process, I know, but the work was well worth the effort.
Guest - May 27, 2006 01:17 PM EDT Hi Trisha,
Thank you for your kind comments.
Doug :)
Guest - May 24, 2006 01:30 PM EDT I love butterflies regardless.. This picture is totally awesome.. What an awesome concept...
Guest - Feb 14, 2006 06:10 PM EDT Hi Artsy, Thanks for commenting. There are several versions of this. In the final version I changed the color of her swimsuit to match the color of the wings. For what it's worth, the thistle and the butterfly were taken in northwestern Illinois, not far from Chicago.
Guest - Feb 14, 2006 05:50 PM EDT Wow! That is way cool!! Great Job!
Guest - Nov 20, 2005 04:54 PM EDT Hi Brian, Model Katie was removed from the original with the Polygonal lasso tool in Photoshop. Zoom in close, use the space bar to move the image around. Edges were removed with the eraser tool using a small hard brush set at 100% opacity. The image was scaled with the move tool. Same process was used for the wings. Shadows on the background image were added with the burn tool. Thanks for commenting :)
Guest - Nov 20, 2005 02:21 PM EDT I like composite images like this. The shadows under Katie's legs add to the realism.
How did you extract her from the original image without making the edges choppy?
