Guest - Mar 28, 2005 10:06 PM EDT Karen, I suspect your perhaps in Florida(lantana does well there for butterflies), if so thie is an Eastern Tiger Swallowtail. The blue on the hindwing tells its a female, males have black on the hindwing, sometimes a little blue. My interactive butterfly CD would help you to ID many of your butterflies. The photos on the species page when you wave your mouse over them pointers and text tell you the keys to the IDs. It'll be ready to ship in two weeks see http://rlephoto.com/CD_project.htm

What a beauty and its a girl! The Eastern Tiger Swallowtails we have here you could not pay them to nectar on Lantana.... I should be seein plenty of them in a few days on wild plums.
