Guest - Feb 04, 2006 04:51 AM EDT Thank you, P. Parthiban, for your kind words. Sorry I was so late with my response. My computer has been "sick" and it finally crashed, so now I have this new one.

This is a Gulf Fritillary. When I found these in the Lower Rio Grande Valley they were common but fleeting when you wanted a photo. Keep working on this species and you'll end up with something really special sooner or later. One year I found a Gulf Fritillary chryslis and wouldn't you know it emerged on a rainy day in my house. The good news is I was able to get tripod photos at 1.5 second exposure, unheard of when shooting a butterfly. I'll post one of my better shot from inside the house.

Guest - Sep 15, 2004 05:50 PM EDT yes, beautiful, and feel the same way, - re preserving the beauty of the various subjects/flowers that we capture this way, "forever". It's wonderful to sit here in winter months, when our gardens are sleeping here in southwestern British Columbia, and see onscreen here,
the beautiful flowers that we enjoyed so much in the summer days and balmy summer evenings, when the scents were so heavenly. wonderful technology.
Guest - Sep 11, 2004 10:03 PM EDT Thank you for your comments. I love preserving such fleeting beauty.
