missed this one earlier, Karen, thankyou. We have seen the Ruby Crowned Kinglet also and they are similar to the bushtits.

These are really lovely birds. Their shape reminds me of the Ruby Crowned Kinglet--which only migrate through here. Beautiful capture.

thankyou again, Carol and Alex, yes these are really sweet. They build beautiful nests, long like a sock, made of moss, lichen and spider webs I think. We watched them build a nest in our butterfly bush/tree one spring, but something destroyed it! Some animal after the eggs I guess. It was sad.
