thankyou Steve. Was just noticing the beak on this one appears to be pale coloured, - always thought these jays' beaks were black or grey. There is one that the others seem to chase away, - perhaps it's due to the "odd beak" :)

you're right, Alex D. These guys expect the food now :) Was reading recently that during nesting season, the steller's jays become more "shy" and keep away from gardens and people. They did disappear for awhile earlier this year, so that explains why.
