About This Image

this is the blind Mama Raccoon again, at our front patio fountain and bird bath, and this time she has her baby with her! She might have had 2 youngsters there, but am not sure, as they are hard to see hiding behind the leaves, plus the babies are more timid than the mother. I was so hoping she wouldn't have babies this year, being that she's blind, but here they are, at least, here's one. Now I see why she's been so thirsty and coming here to drink all the time, as she's nursing the babies.

well, it's now September. Have seen the blind Mother raccoon a couple times lately, but sadly, the baby hasn't been seen for a long time. I don't know what happened to the poor little thing.

Such a touching photo. Poor mama is blind but she is trying so hard to raise her babies.

This is a real touching story. Maybe your garden will provide a safe haven for them and even with her disability, hopefully she can adjust her life to find ways to protect herself and her young. My fingers are crossed!!

thankyou, Beverly, --yes, it seems she's doing quite well with the baby, who stays right close to her as they are walking around. Maybe he'll guide her when he gets a bit older.

Hi Lorraine, thanks for the caring message. Yes, I do get concerned about her and the baby now too. Sure hope all turns out well for them, poor things. A lot against both of them, am afraid.

That baby looks so cute, so she has survived, I hope she does ok, but it must be a worry for you with her being blind.
