Yes the cannon fires and yep thats a Hawkins!Ofcourse all are blanks for reinactment! Good eye, I never noticed the chain!!

Thats a great shot, I like the cannon, but that new chain don't fit. It should have an old rusty chain on it. It looks to be in excellent shape, does he actually fire it during the re-enactments? Is that a Hawkins rifle that he is holding? Neat.

Really cool pic, My GGrandfather was in the Civil War, 6th Mass. Reg. He was wounded in New Orleans.Alex tells me he thinks the Alamo was The Mexican War. Anyways its really neat. Carol
