This was taken in The Valley Of Fire that is around 50 miles from Las Vegas, Nevada. Without something in the shot to show size the mountains are very deceiving. Do you see the people? :) They were thinking about walking over to the mountain but changed there minds. I was ready to get a shot when they were out a ways but had to take this one instead. Hi Steve and Alex. Thanks for your comments. Glad you guys liked this photo. Yea Steve there are still some areas here on earth that has some clean air. The Valley Of Fire is amazing with the bright red mountains, green shrubs, and the blue sky. Night time with the stars out is awesome. Alex it is like being on the moon or something with flat land then a red rock formation in the middle of it. There is also a little mountain of rocks that looks like a Elephant.

Stunning image, Alan! On my list of things to do before the grim reaper shows up! I think the scale provided by the people adds a lot to this image, but for me the best thing is the incredibly clear air, and the red rocks against the blue sky. Brilliant!
