I hadn't noticed that the praying mantis had a heart-shaped face until looking at this picture. I remember my sister and I catching a praying mantis when we were young and being given strict orders to leave it alone. It was a rarity then. But so beautiful. I loved the beautiful purple - it was just the right added touch! A wonderful Valentine gift - of course, I am thinking a little later date as Feb. 26 is my birthday and this is almost exact day for me to find this picture. *g* Great Work, Don.

Cool kinda like a Mac shot, w/the 75x300.. never tryed one yet, wife has a Rebelxt good camera. Sharp looking-like it

Thanks Karen, Talsi and Mary! Mary, I acually used the 75x300 I had at the time. I was about 6' away w/ a tripod. It worked OK, but many shots were blurred even with the tripod. It isn't the best for macro, but he was very shy when I got in too close with the 18x55. Thanks again, Don

Great color and detail on this fine macro image. Considering what happens to the male if he should take her up on her invitation, I think he'd be better off staying a bachelor!!
